Kendall Grace is 9 months old!

Kendall has been doing so many new things lately. She is pulling up on everything and taking steps holding my hand. We have to keep the doors closed to the den now because if not she is very fast to escape and try to make her way up the stairs. Both of her bottom, front teeth have come in and she has definitely been feeling that! And she now has her second word. Last night she woke up at 2 am and we tried letting her cry it out, until she said, "Mama" for the first time! I certainly could not ignore that. We ended up doing the "let her cry for 5 minutes then get her" routine until she finally fell asleep at 3:45 am. Dave never went back to sleep since he had enough studying to keep him up anyway. I got a little sleep from 5 am till 7 am when Dylan was up for school.

Height~27 1/4 inches

Weight~18lbs. 13 oz.

Just a bit below the average percentile.

Kendall loves ripping up paper, so this was a big treat!

Neptune Festival

On Saturday afternoon we went to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk for the annual Neptune Festival. It is supposed to be a "locals take back the beach" festival but it is still so crowded with tourists that you can barely walk around. Dylan still had a great time, and took these pictures himself! The space ship was a huge slide that Dylan climbed to the top of...and then slid all the way down.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes on a Saturday Morning!

On Saturday morning I was awakened by a frazzled woman thrusting a baby in my face saying, "she kept me up all night...it's your turn!" So I brought my beautiful baby girl (the 9-month old) downstairs and fed her a bottle. A little while later Dylan woke up and bounced down the stairs. So what does a daddy do to keep his two kids quiet so his wife can sleep...make chocolate chip pancakes of course! Actually, it was Dylan's idea, but I quickly went along with it. Suprisingly, once you could smell the pancakes cooking Christina appeared in time to eat the ones on my plate before I could get to them!

For the record I got up with Kendall on my own on Sunday morning to let Christina "sleep in."

Fireproof Your Marriage

Last night Christina and I went to see the new movie "Fireproof" and it was a great movie. We were both very impressed with the film, and are motivated to "Fireproof" our marriage. Not only was it beneficial from a Christian marriage perspective, it was also a very entertaining movie. It was great to see a PG movie that could make you think, laugh, cry and leave motivated all at the same time. Go see it....now!

Dylan is a Spark

This is Dylan's first year in Awanas. He really looks forward to going to church every Wednesday night. Last night was the first night that he got to wear his Spark vest. He had to earn this privilege by memorizing John 3:16. I am taking a Beth Moore class, A Heart Like His, while Dylan is in his class, so Dave is enjoying some one on one time with his baby girl.

A Playdate for Kendall

Every other Thursday, Nana takes Kendall to play with her cousins, Ava and Sadie at Joey and Donna's house while Amy is working. The girls have so much fun together.

Dylan’s First Day of School

Today was Dylan’s first day of kindergarten at Kingston Elementary School. Last night Dylan was so excited that he couldn’t get to sleep until 11pm even though we started the going to bed process at 9pm! The weather was beautiful for our first walk to school. When Dylan stepped outside at 8am he said, “It’s early and cold!” I took a couple of pictures on the way. As we approached the school grounds, a reporter from Fox News attempted to interview Dylan. Unfortunately, Dylan was too shy and the camera man focused on me. AHHH!!!! At least I had showered and was wearing make-up. J I don’t even remember the questions he asked; I just remember thinking my answers sounded so silly and there was no way that they would air this interview. Then he asked me for my name…and how to spell it! Ugh…So, if you want to see me on the “hot seat” and you’re a local check the Fox newscast sometime tonight. After the interview, the school doors opened and Dylan went right in…he didn’t even look back. He was so happy to see Kendall when he came home. He told her that he had missed her and kissed her all over! Dylan said that the best part of his day was snack time and P.E. Tomorrow he is looking forward to learning to read, phonics, snack time, and P.E.
