Christmas Eve

This year we spent Christmas Eve with friends from church and then with family at Amy and Sam's house. Kendall's first Christmas Eve was a lot of fun for us all!

Holiday Party

Dave and I were both able to attend Dylan's school holiday craft party yesterday. We had so much fun! Dave helped the kids make reindeer antlers, and I helped them make felt Christmas tree ornaments. Other craft stations included card making and cookie decorating. Dylan was so proud to have us both there!

Does This Man Look Homeless To You?

Kroger thinks so. Yesterday, some time during working hours, Dave stopped in the grocery store to pick up some bread, formula, and soda. Upon checking out the clerk scanned the formula, looked at Dave, and said, "WIC?" Dave said that at first he didn't even know what she was talking about...he just said, "No." But the clerk was quite confident that he was indeed WIC, so again she stated, "WIC!" And again Dave said, "No." Now the clerk was very sure of herself and once again questioned her customer..."Are you sure this isn't WIC?" Dave said, "No! I have money! I am paying cash for the formula!" The clerk was stunned! "I'm so sorry. I don't know why I thought you were WIC." You be the judge...Does this man look like he should be included in the WIC program?

I guess these past couple of weeks of studying for exams have really taken a toll on my husband. He no longer shaves his face or head. And all he wears are sweats.

An Avid Reader Already

Tonight she was reading her books, one at a time, turning the pages...then she decided to get into the book basket and surround herself with all of the books. :)

WATCH D.O.G.S.

Yesterday Dave volunteered at Dylan's school for WATCH D.O.G.S. - Dads of Great Students. It is a P.T.A. program that enlisted dads of the students to patrol and help out at the school. There is actually a dad signed up for every day of the entire school year already. He began his day by being introduced to the school via the morning announcements which are broadcast to each classroom t.v. Dylan was also on the announcements so that everyone would know Dave was his dad! Dylan thought this was so cool! It was a fun day for both of them. :)

Thanksgiving in Greensboro

Last Wednesday we hit the road for Thanksgiving in Greensboro. What should only take 4 1/2 hours, ended up taking us 6 1/2 hours. Isn't the day before Thanksgiving the most traveled day of the year? North Carolina must not think so because a very large section of 85 was under road construction with only one lane open in each direction. I was driving since Dave was resting from his long morning of having some major dental work done, and I needed a break from the traffic. So, I got off the interstate and was about to pull in to Burger King when a guy with no driver's license, no insurance, no passenger side window, and a warrant out for his arrest in a car that didn't belong to him ran into the back of us! And just to clarify, Christina WAS NOT at fault this time. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and the police did finally arrive after a short wait of about 45 minutes. :) Even though it was a rough trip getting there, we had the best time in Greensboro! We were very thankful to be able to spend a few days with so many members of our family.
