California Vacation Part III: Hollywood & Beverly Hills

We took a Hollywood/Beverly Hills Double Decker Bus Tour with Rob while Kendall stayed at the house bonding with her Aunt Esther and cousins. It was the best way to see so much in such a short time! We were able to get off the bus when we wanted to check something out, and then get back on another one every 30 minutes.
Hollywood

I love the Regis and Kelly show!

The only famous person we saw was George Hamilton. It was his 70th birthday and he was getting a star on the Walk of Fame. I took pictures of two of my favorite movie star's prints.

All kinds of characters stand out on Hollywood Blvd to pose for pictures. Dave said that he was pretty sure SpongeBob, who was very much in character, was drunk! :)

Scooby-Doo was the first one that we had Dylan get a picture with, so I didn't realize at this point that tips were expected. So, this Scooby turned out to be a stalker. He followed me around tapping me on the shoulder and holding open his book bag till I figured it out and begged Rob for a dollar to save me from Scary Scooby.

The Farmers Market is a great place to eat and shop.

Our last stop of the day was at the Hollywood Disney Soda Fountain for some delicious homemade ice cream sundaes.

Malibu

Esther and Rob did a fabulous job of showing us around while we were in California. Esther suggested this little eatery, which is frequented by the "stars", for lunch on our way to the beach. It is one of Rachel Ray's recommendations for "best eats" on $40 a day.
The scenery is so beautiful at the beach.

It was Mary's first day on the beach!

Surprisingly, Kendall loved the Pacific Ocean even though it felt like ice water!

Uncle Rob helped Dylan build a really cool sandcastle.

California Vacation Part I

Last night we returned from our amazing, fun-filled adventure to California. We went to visit Rob and Esther and the girls for a week. I took close around 400 pictures, so I will be blogging the trip in parts. Today's blog is featuring the Santa Barbara pier and the Santa Barbara Zoo.
